Meet Dr. Gunnar Bergqvist
Dr. Gunnar Bergqvist comes to Erie, Pennsylvania from Sweden, bringing with him the skill and academic excellence of the country that awards the Nobel Prize. He came to the United States to study medicine and landed residencies with the most distinguished of university hospitals. That training provided him the skill and knowledge to perform complicated, state-of-the-art surgery in the field of plastic and microvascular reconstruction and cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Bergqvist has passed the rigorous standards required by the American Board of Surgery for general surgery with maintenance of certificate and recertification and is also board certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, of which he has also maintained and recertified. He carries privileges among Pennsylvania and Naples Florida hospitals and surgery centers. He was a clinical teacher for a Residency program from 2002-2016. His graduates still seek him today for continued guidance with surgery. Dr. Bergqvist is on the cutting edge of Plastic and reconstructive surgery and has continued to produce research and clinical trials.
While Dr. Bergqvist remains busy with much needed reconstruction, he is popular among patients for cosmetic procedures. He can perform these elective surgeries in Naples and Pennsylvania, offering privacy and comfort for patients. He has the largest arsenal of technology incorporating the most of lasers and non-invasive technology of any health care facility in the region. He is a proud member of the ASPS (American Society of Plastic Surgeons) and has received many awards for outstanding patient care, top 10 best surgeons and teaching awards.
