Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is a minimally invasive method that is done in Dr. Bergqvist’s office under local anesthesia.

This is a wonderful way of having fat removed with minimal complications and great satisfaction.

The Postoperative period is normally fairly short. In general, you will have significant swelling and drainage for a couple of days. We normally recommend very good compression therapy using appropriate garments in the postoperative. Most swelling is reduced in one week.

It’s possible to have some residual swelling and healing for up to six months.

Using the Tumescent lipo in-office option also allows for the option of transferring fat.  This can be done in almost any area.  Popular transfers are removing fat from the waist or thighs and adding it to the buttocks or breast.

Breast surgery done with tumescence Anesthesia is a new modality using Tumescent anesthesia has been developed by Dr. Gunnar Bergqvist and Dr. Jeffrey Klein, the inventor of tumescent anesthesia.

Together, they developed this process which was initially described in a study done using Dr. Bergqvist’s patients.  Their findings of using tumescent lidocaine antibiotic delivery, (TLAD,) was presented

This is the first method used to do this type of procedure under local only in an office.

Smaller breast reductions and breast lifts can now be done using this method in Dr. Bergqvist’s office using only local and oral medications. No I.V. sedation is otherwise not needed! This is great for healing.

This is a state-of-the-art modality that we have been doing as an adjunct to liposuction which allows the skin to tighten without cutting it out.

This is exceedingly much more powerful than other lesser modalities including any type of probe that’s placed on top of the skin, with needles or other methods of transferring energy.

Renuvion J plasma uses a helium plasma beam at the tip of a cannula that’s passed right under the tissues allowing significant induction of tissue tightening.

It’s easily done using the same liposuction access. And the final result of tightening is achieved at 5 to 6 months, once again this is often done in conjunction with Liposuction.
